We have all reached to bottom of our inkwell. We have all run out of words to say and ideas to express. We have all faced writers block. Fortunately, there are several tools made to boost us poets over that barrier and back into the seas of creative ink. Then there are other tools made for other purposes which turn out to be the most surprising and impactful sources of inspiration. Today we will be exploring the features of a particularly powerful tool: Google Advanced Image Search.



What Is Google Advanced Image Search?


This image searcher is an impressive tool which allows browsing users to find and filter through the massive database of images. If you have ever experienced the rush of ideas, words, and metaphors that fill your mind when you see an inspiring image then you know the potential for poets that this tool possess. Features For Poets


Keyword Search: You can search for any number of specific keywords, exact phrases, or even exclude certain unwanted keywords. Oftentimes this brainstorming of words will cause a burst of wonderful concepts and descriptives to be used in poems, instantly filling up the poet's inkwell with a combination of splendid words.


Colors In Image: This feature allows poets to easily select a particular color to require in results. Although at first this ides seems fruitless, it is actually a very interesting way to visualize colors in new ways and see how they can be expressed in poetic descriptives. This is in truth an untapped wealth of poetic ink just waiting to be molded by a poet's fine skills. For instance the color red probably makes you immediately think of an apple, a rose, or blood when the color can be found in a enormous number of other poetically intriguing scenes.

Type Of Image: This feature allows poet to narrow their results to only the type of images they would like to be viewing. Mostly, this option is used to narrow your search results down to only those you want to see ultimately providing the poet with a richer inspiration searching experience. Generally, setting this field to the Photo option works best to find real images but every poet finds inspiration in different things, so experiment with the different options and see what poems you can create.


Region: This option allows you to choose anywhere in the world as the site of publication. Oftentimes, this can provide poets searching to understand the story behind an image with a deeper understanding of and closer connection to the picture. Knowing more about a scene can inspire you to write brilliant works of poetry as it will allow for you to use rawer, more powerful words to describe the image.
